Before becoming a wardrobe essential for women, the blazer originated in men's tailoring. Lapel collar, flap pockets, structured construction: these are all details that give it its instantly recognizable look.
But today, the blazer is worn differently. Looser, more supple, and less formal, it moves away from the traditional suit jacket to become an everyday piece.
It is in this spirit that we designed the EYAMI black blazer.
A loose volume, without rigidity
We wanted an oversized silhouette, but without the impression of simply wearing a jacket that is a size too big.
The volume is therefore worked directly into the cut: more ease at the body and sleeves, a generous length, and a slightly dropped shoulder line.
This construction allows the blazer to retain the codes of tailoring while providing a more relaxed and contemporary silhouette.
A deliberately discreet structure
We were not looking to create a blazer with very sharp shoulders or a rigid silhouette.
The shoulder pads are therefore very thin and discreet. Their role is simply to provide slight support to the shoulder line and to allow the fabric to maintain a nice drape, without giving an overly constructed effect.
The result is a blazer that finds its balance between the precision of tailoring and the casualness of an oversized piece.
A jacket that can be worn easily on a daily basis, open over jeans and a T-shirt or closed for a dressier look.
