How to properly maintain your trench coat?

Comment bien entretenir son trench ?

A beautiful trench coat can stay with you for many seasons, provided you take care of it. A few simple steps can help preserve its shape, color, and drape over time.

The essentials at a glance: 30°C maximum · delicate cycle · similar colors · no bleach · no soaking · no tumble drying · air dry · gentle ironing with a protective cloth.

No need to wash it too often

Your trench coat does not need to be washed after every wear. If it is neither stained nor truly dirty, simply let it air out for a few hours on a hanger.

Limiting washes also helps reduce friction and keeps the fabric fibers in good condition for longer.

Machine wash: 30°C maximum

Your EYAMI trench coat should be washed at 30°C maximum on a delicate cycle with similar colors.

Before putting it in the machine, remember to empty the pockets and button it up to minimize the risk of snagging during the wash.

No tumble drying

The heat and drum motion can alter the garment's shape and structure.

After washing, gently reshape your trench coat, then let it dry naturally in the open air.

For wrinkles: very gentle ironing

If your trench coat needs ironing, use a low temperature, around 110°C, and place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric.

This precaution helps prevent the shiny marks that can appear when a hot iron is applied directly to the fabric.

A small stain? No need to wash the whole thing

For a small stain, start by gently dabbing the area with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Avoid rubbing, as you risk damaging the fabric or driving the stain deeper into the fibers.

If you use a stain remover, always test it first on an inconspicuous inner area.

The right hanger to preserve its shape

Storage also matters. Choose a wide and sturdy enough hanger rather than a thin one, which can gradually leave marks on the trench coat's shoulders.

Well cared for, your trench coat is designed to accompany you season after season.
